Where to Stay

Where to Stay

As in most destinations, accommodation is the main expense you'll have to consider when working out the budget for your trip to Los Angeles.

Best Areas

Los Angeles is a big city and it's difficult to get accommodation close to all the places you want to visit. That being said, it's important to be aware of the area the hotel is in, as some areas are safer than others, and it's also important to make sure they're well connected.

The most recommended area to stay in is Hollywood, although the West Hollywood option is just as good and a little cheaper.

If you want to save money and don't mind having to take public transport, the best thing to do is to look for a hotel that is a little less central, as long as there's public transport nearby.

Hotels

Los Angeles is a very expensive city to live in and the hotels are not too cheap either, but if you do your research in advance you can find reasonably central options for about US$120 a night in a double room.

In order to find the best offers with the guaranteed minimum price, we recommend looking on Hoteles Baratos. In most cases, payment is not made until arrival at the hotel and cancellation is free until the day before.

Once you've set the dates for your trip, the best way to save money is to book a hotel that offers a discount when you pay in advance. By selecting the "non-refundable" option you can save up to 30% on your accommodation.

Apartments

Tourist apartments are becoming more and more popular, and for long stays or big groups, they can be a cheaper option. On the Apartamentos Baratos website, you'll find apartments all over the world with the guaranteed minimum price.

Hostels

For groups of friends or those travelling alone and looking to save money on accommodation, there is always the option of hostels, where you can find shared rooms for as little as US$20 a night.

If you're interested in booking a hostel we recommend taking a look at Hostel World.
